What is Premarital Therapy?
Taking your relationship to the next step in marriage can be an exciting time. Whether you've been together for a year or five years, many couples can benefit from marriage preparation counseling. Dr. DeSantis & Associates uses the PREPARE/ENRICH curriculum to guide couples through relationship assessment and strengthening exercises that can help any couple prepare for a fulfilling, healthy, and lasting partnership.
Premarital therapy services are offered using a standardized and research-based curriculum for couples of all backgrounds. Non-religious and specific religious curricula (Christian, Catholic, Jewish) are offered.
What is Relationship Strengthening?
If you're not currently planning to get married or you've been married for a long time, the PREPARE/ENRICH curriculum may still benefit you and your relationship. The smart assessment will personalize your questions based on whether you are married, have kids, and more. Relationship strengthening services are offered in 6-8 sessions, after which you may find you benefit from additional counseling.
How can Dr. DeSantis & Associates help?
Dr. DeSantis & Associates offers Premarital and Relationship Strengthening services from PREPARE/ENRICH certified facilitators who have been specially trained to interpret assessment results and offer counseling with your unique relationship strengths and growth areas in mind. Typically, 6-8 sessions are recommended for premarital/relationship strengthening couples to complete the curriculum. Couples who find they may benefit from additional counseling may be accommodated. The cost for this service is $35 per PREPARE/ENRICH assessment, and $250 per session.
In addition to the above, periodically, Dr. DeSantis & Associates offers a Relationship Strengthening Cruise package, which is designed to give research-based insights about your relationship utilizing the PREPARE/ENRICH curriculum, and pairing this with a cruise experience that allows couples to reflect on what they love about each other in a relaxing environment guided by trained therapists.
Relationship strengthening cruise packages are subject to availability and involve the following:
A telehealth therapy session providing you with a personalized interpretation of your PREPARE/ENRICH results by a certified facilitator and couples therapist
A 2.5 hour cruise experience in which you'll enjoy scenic views of the coastline, light refreshments, and guided relationship strengthening exercises by your certified facilitator and couples therapist. Strengthening exercises are personalized based on insights from your relationship assessment results
One included follow-up teletherapy session to check progress on the effectiveness of newly learned strategies, and to make suggestions for any ongoing needs
